Simon was born and raised in Manchester with a passion for drawing and an obsession with two wheels and muddy trails. After an honours degree in Management Studies at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, Simon found his way to Johannesburg where he swapped the mud for the dust and the pen for the pencil. A degree in Graphic Design from The Design Center, Greenside led to an internship at Grid Worldwide and 8 years in the design department at The Brand Union (formally Enterprise IG). As Design Director, Simon worked across Africa on large-scale corporate branding projects from Nigerian Banks to Egyptian fast food chains and luxury resorts in Morocco.
In 2011 (coinciding with a move to Cape Town) the decision was made to start something really exciting. Drawfour was created and the adventure began.
Inspiration often strikes in the moments inbetween and it's these moments that Simon continues to fill with cycling. An avid competitive mountain biker, Simon recently rode 12,000km in the world’s longest bicycle race from Cairo to Cape Town.
Chris is a Cape Town lad through and through, having been raised
on the mountains and sports fields of this beautiful city. He graduated from
U.C.T. with a Finance and Economics Honours degree and set out in the
financial services industry where he spent 3 valuable years. However, a
constantly questioning mind saw him swapping the calculator for a notebook to
fill with insights.
His interest in behavioural economics has allowed him to effectively combine a Finance degree with his Post-graduate Diploma in Marketing Management to excel in the field of Brand Strategy. Chris began his career with The Brand Union (formerly Enterprise IG) and quickly sank his teeth into brand strategy for blue chip South African clients Standard Bank and S.A.B. He has also been instrumental in the creation and launch of FMCG brands for start-up clients new to the world of branding.
But just as there is balance in his work, he strives for balance outside the office, too, where he focuses his excess energy on marathon running and pretty much any other sport he can get his hands (or feet) on.
